After a long summer hiatus hockey is officially back with the start of training camp for the San Jose Sharks just around the corner.
It’s been a strenuous few months without San Jose Sharks hockey. However the wait is finally over now with training camp set to begin on Friday, September 13th.
Team Teal will be bringing 63 players, 35 forwards, 21 blueliners, and 7 netminders to camp. They will split them into 3 groups and then focus on working on situations they might face on the ice based on which coach or member of developmental staff they find themselves with.
To go along with the faces we’ve all grown accustomed to in Teal sweaters there will be a few more players in attendance hoping to get noticed by San Jose’s front office and coaching staff. Here are the players expected to make their presence known at Solar4America Ice starting on Friday.

This training camp holds a little more weight than in years past. The Sharks still have a few questions when it comes to the composition of their roster. San Jose desperately needs to find a way to supplement the losses of players like Joe Pavelski, Joonas Donskoi, and Gus Nyquist. Hopefully one or two of these skaters making their ways up the farm system can emerge and take on big minutes for Team Teal.
Meaningful hockey is almost here and it’s just a matter of time until we see games back at the SAP Center. Still the Sharks can’t get too far ahead of themselves. They’ve got a few noticeable concerns surrounding this roster that they need to address before taking on another arduous regular season.
